Who is the Insight 45+ program recommended for?
Lens surgeries are a permanent and safe solution for those who want to get rid of the constant use of glasses or contact lenses. They are most often recommended over the age of 45, when vision naturally begins to deteriorate.
We recommend it if:
- He is over 45 and is having more and more difficulty reading up close.
- It bothers me that I have to change multiple glasses.
- It is important for you to have clear vision when driving, especially at night.
- Would you like to use your mobile phone or monitor without glasses?
- You have developed cataracts or want to prevent their development
- You want to live a more comfortable, active everyday life
When is lens surgery not recommended?
There may be times when lens surgery is not the best choice. In such cases, our doctors will always recommend a personalized alternative.
Most common reasons for exclusion:
- You have a serious, untreated eye disease (e.g. glaucoma, retinal detachment)
- There is active inflammation or infection in the eye
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have a medical condition (e.g., autoimmune disease, wound healing disorder) that may affect healing
- No vision problems or discomfort with glasses
- If you only need reading glasses and are not bothered by their use
The exact answer is always given by a detailed, personal suitability assessment. Based on this, we determine which treatment will provide the best results for you.
Treatments
What surgeries are included in the scope of Sharp Vision 45+?
Our clinic offers three proven procedures that help restore the freedom of clear vision. The exact answer is always given by a detailed suitability examination, where our doctors will recommend the most suitable solution on a personalized basis.
Vision correction lens surgery
The natural lens of the eye is replaced with a modern, premium artificial lens. Multifocal or trifocal lenses provide sharp vision at all distances and also prevent the development of cataracts.
Cataract surgery
One of the most commonly performed eye procedures in the world, the cloudy lens is removed and replaced with a premium artificial lens that restores clear, sharp vision.
Reading glasses surgery
A procedure to treat presbyopia, which can be laser monovision or premium multifocal lens implantation. The goal: comfortable reading, mobile phone and monitor use without glasses.
Suitability test
Our suitability test helps you decide on the exact treatment
The first step to accurately determine our Insight 45+ treatments and create a personalized treatment plan is a painless, comprehensive suitability test, where all your questions will be answered.
The world of modern contact lenses: sharp vision in every situation
The key to the success of lens surgery is choosing the right artificial lens. At our clinic, you can choose from several premium solutions that provide a long-lasting and natural vision experience.
Monofocal intraocular lens
Provides sharp vision at a specific distance (usually far away). Simple, reliable solution, may require glasses for reading.
Extended focus lens
It provides better vision at both near and intermediate distances, for example when using a monitor. A natural viewing experience, fewer compromises.
Multifocal / trifocal intraocular lens
It provides sharp vision at near, intermediate and far distances. It helps you to completely abandon glasses and is a lifelong solution.
Toric intraocular lens
It is used to correct astigmatism. When combined with other types of intraocular lenses, it provides complete correction.

Lens surgery is a quick and painless procedure performed by our experienced ophthalmologists. You will arrive at the Saint James Clinic at your scheduled appointment, where our caring team will assist you every step of the way. The procedure is performed using local anesthetic eye drops, so it is painless, and after a few hours of rest, you will be able to go home with a companion.
Period: ≈ 15–20 minutes for both eyes
More information

- Preparation, disinfection, application of eyelid splint
- Making a small incision of 2–3 mm on the cornea

Returning to daily routine after laser surgery:
- Work: for office work usually after 2–3 days.
- Driving: typically after the first check-up, with medical approval.
- Swimming/sauna: typically recommended after 5-6 weeks.
(Of course, everyone heals at a different rate, so always follow your doctor's instructions.)
Regular follow-up visits after lens surgery ensure that healing is smooth and the results remain stable in the long term. These appointments are short, painless, and always give our doctors the opportunity to answer any questions you may have.
Period: ≈ 1-3 months
More information
Mandatory controls:
- 24-hour control: on the first day, we check the implantation of the artificial lens and the condition of the eye.
- 5–6 weeks: long-term final examination, confirmation of final results.
Follow-up:
- Temporary symptoms (e.g. sensitivity to light, slight blurriness) may occur in the first few weeks, but these will gradually disappear.
- Our doctors check the condition of the eyes in detail at every check-up and adjust the use of eye drops if necessary.
- Premium contact lenses last a lifetime, so there is no need for repeated procedures.
