Dr. Kristóf Perényi

I received my medical degree from the Faculty of General Medicine of Semmelweis University in 2009, and then worked at the Ophthalmology Clinic of Semmelweis University and the Szent Imre University Teaching Hospital, where, in addition to the ophthalmology profession, I was able to learn the importance of human-centered healing. I had the opportunity to learn the basics of refractive surgeries in Italy and Malta.
It is a great honor for me to perform a wide range of eye surgeries in the most modern and safest conditions at Saint James Eye Center. My main areas of expertise are cataract and refractive lens surgeries, laser vision correction procedures, and ICL artificial lens implantations for the treatment of high myopia.
Dr. Erika Baksa

I received my general medical degree from the Medical University of Pécs, and I have been an ophthalmologist since 2004. As a trainee, I worked at the Ophthalmology Clinic on Mária Street, and the experiences I gained there fundamentally determined my love for the profession, my need for empathy and high-quality patient care.
At Saint James Eye Center, I perform vision-improving laser treatments, refractive lens surgeries, and cataract surgeries. Here, a pleasant environment and the most modern diagnostic and therapeutic tools help my work. I admit that in a friendly, good atmosphere, healing is more effective and recovery is much easier. I feel lucky because I have found a profession that allows me to remedy the many problems of the patients who come to me, and to make my own life more fulfilling.
Dr. Lóránt Dienes PhD

I received my medical degree from the Faculty of General Medicine of Semmelweis University in 2009, and completed my specialist training at the South Pest Hospital and the Mária Street Ophthalmology Clinic. Later, I worked at the Szent Imre University Teaching Hospital, obtained my PhD in 2017, and am currently participating in several international clinical studies. During my patient care, I strive to practice the full spectrum of ophthalmology, with the exception of pediatric ophthalmology.
Currently, my refractive surgery focus is on lens replacement and laser corneal surgeries. I try to use my experience in all areas of ophthalmology to the benefit of my patients. My goal is to see satisfied patients after refractive surgeries.
Dr. Eva Toth

In 2004, I graduated from the University of Szeged with a general medical degree. After that, I was admitted to the ophthalmology residency training in Szeged, which I interrupted for a year and a half, moving to Australia. I continued my training in one of the best institutions in the country, the Ophthalmology Clinic in Budapest. In 2012, I passed the ophthalmology specialty exam with excellent results.
After my specialist examination, I worked in the ophthalmology department of the Saint Pantaleon Hospital in Dunaújváros, while I continued to train and took on positions in several specialist clinics. Here, I had the opportunity to acquire not only theoretical knowledge but also a wide range of surgeries at a high level. I later performed cataract surgeries as a day surgery in other institutions.
I am very proud to be able to work at such an excellent clinic and with such an excellent team.
Dr. Simon Lilla

I graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine of the University of Debrecen in 2009. I also wrote my scientific student project on the results of laser vision correction surgeries, which resulted in several publications. I started my career at the Debrecen Eye Clinic, then completed the last years of my training in England. These years determined my later career. I was particularly interested in various surgical techniques, I was lucky enough to learn from prominent figures in the ophthalmology profession and practice eye surgery on a daily basis. I found great joy in cataract surgery, with which we can restore the vision of our dear patients within days. In 2016, I passed my specialist examination with excellent grades.
As a specialist, I worked at the Pécs Eye Clinic and then again at the Debrecen Eye Clinic, where I was fortunate enough to practice the full spectrum of ophthalmology. I have been living in Budapest since 2022 and since then I have dedicated my full time to performing cataract and clear lens surgeries with premium lens implantation.
I feel it is important to regularly train myself professionally, and I am also constantly learning about myself and others.
Dr. Laszlo Ujvary

I completed my medical training at the Faculty of General Medicine of Semmelweis University and the Medizinische Universität Wien in Vienna. I graduated in 2018 and then started working at the Ophthalmology Clinic of Semmelweis University. After completing my residency training, I obtained an excellently qualified ophthalmology examination, which was followed by the international examination of the European Board of Ophthalmology in the fall of 2023. I am the first and co-author of several foreign and Hungarian-language publications. I regularly participate and present at domestic and international congresses and further training courses. I am a member of the Orbita section of the Hungarian Ophthalmology Association. I teach ophthalmology in Hungarian and German to general medical and dental students at the university.
In my work as an ophthalmologist, in addition to treating general eye diseases, I work in the Orbital Diseases Working Group of the clinic, where we deal with the treatment of orbital diseases, with special attention to the ophthalmological symptoms of patients with Graves' disease. In our work, it is of paramount importance that our patients feel cured not only from a medical point of view, but also subjectively, therefore aesthetic eyelid procedures (blepharoplasty, Müller muscle surgery) are also an integral part of our healing activities.
Dr. Akos Gaspar

I graduated from Semmelweis University in Budapest in 2000, and then worked at the Ophthalmology Clinic on Mária Street for nearly ten years, where I also obtained my ophthalmology specialist exam. After that, I continued my work as deputy head of department at the Szent Imre University Teaching Hospital.
My professional interests focus on retinal diseases – including age-related macular degeneration, complications of diabetes and various circulatory disorders – and their modern treatment options, such as surgery, intravitreal injections and laser therapies. Over the past years, I have performed more than 6,000 cataract and 1,000 retinal surgeries, and have helped my patients preserve and improve their vision by administering more than 4,000 intravitreal injections. The basis of my knowledge in the treatment of age-related macular degeneration is my decades of experience in international multicenter clinical trials.
In my medical practice, it is of utmost importance that my patients feel safe, have their questions answered, and receive personalized, empathetic care. For me, healing is complete in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere at Saint James Eye Center, where trust and attention are as valuable as the treatment itself, in addition to professional knowledge.
Dr. Mohammadpour Behnam

I received my medical degree from Semmelweis University in 2016, and then passed the ophthalmology examination with excellent grades in 2023. I currently work full-time at the Ophthalmology Clinic of Semmelweis University, and I also see patients in my private practice.
In addition to general ophthalmological examinations, my professional interests and activities include pediatric ophthalmology, visual acuity testing, prescription of glasses, diagnostics and treatment of strabismus and blurred vision, as well as conservative and surgical solutions for lacrimation complaints and tear duct obstruction.
It is important to me to maintain open and understandable communication with my patients during examinations and treatments so that they are accurately aware of their condition and the necessary steps, thereby promoting the best possible healing results.
