Before booking your surgery, we will take all the necessary measures to ensure you are eligible for the procedure before you travel to Hungary.
A personal examination is required, which can be conducted near your home. Please submit the completed examination results to us. After our specialist doctors have reviewed your results, we will coordinate and schedule your surgery appointment.
We will also assist you with booking your flight tickets and accommodation. While in Budapest, you can choose from three different hotels, each just a 10-minute drive by car or taxi from our eye clinic. Depending on the type of surgery, you may need to stay in Budapest for 1 to 3 nights. We will provide you with the exact duration after the examinations are completed.
The surgery usually takes place in the morning, requiring you to spend approximately 2 to 3 hours at the clinic, although the actual procedure only takes about 30 minutes . After the surgery, you can check into your accommodation and return for a follow-up appointment the next day. The follow-up appointment will only take 15 minutes , allowing you to enjoy the sights of Budapest without glasses afterwards!
In the morning, we recommend visiting the Fisherman’s Bastion and the Buda Castle , where you can enjoy a magnificent panorama of the city and the Danube River. From there, explore the streets of the Castle District with a pleasant walk, stopping by Matthias Church and the Lion’s Fountain .
In the afternoon, cross over to the Pest side of the city to visit St. Stephen’s Basilica and stroll through the downtown streets, such as Váci Street.
