The laser vision correction, which is completely touch free. This is the Touch Free treatment.
A new-generation single-laser procedure that uses only a laser, without touching the eye. In contrast to the classic PRK treatment, the epithelium protecting the cornea is removed by laser, which makes the procedure even more precise and better results can be expected after the treatment. After a 2-3 day recovery period, excellent results are guaranteed in the long term.
Advantages of the Touch Free laser vision correction
To achieve the perfect surface, a very precise measurement is required. Our clinic has a so-called first-segment OCT device, which maps the thickness of the corneal epithelium with micrometre precision, and the laser treats the surface based on the data obtained. This protective epithelium is removed by the doctor during traditional PRK treatments, using a special instrument.
It is very important to note that this type of treatment should only be chosen if the eye clinic is equipped with the aforementioned device. Otherwise, the laser only calculates an “average” epithelial thickness, with potential risks that the patient must be aware of.
Having this detailed and comprehensive eye examination is the first step to a successful Touch Free surgery. The test consists of various diagnostic tests and is completely painless.
Based on the examination data, our ophthalmologists determine the eligibility of the patient for laser vision correction. It will be determined which types of treatment are appropriate for the patient in order to achieve the best possible result, which can ensure perfect vision without glasses or contact lenses.
